Great news for fans of Apple’s operating system came our way via a press release from Turbine today, as the MMO developer has announced that The Lord of the Rings Online and its expansion packs have been ported over to the Macintosh. If you’ve been waiting to take the plunge into Middle-earth until it was ported over to the Mac, then you’ll want to go grab the 16.5GB client as soon as you’re able to:

Turbine announced today the launch of beta client for The Lord of the Rings Onlineâ„¢ for Mac. Mac users in North America and Europe can play the award-winning free-to-play MMORPG on Mac starting today by visiting http://www.lotro.com/.
