Gauntlet: Seven Sorrows Reviews

Another pair of reviews for Midway’s Gauntlet: Seven Sorrows have hit the web, both of which give the game an average score. The first is at GamePro with an overall score of 3.5/5:

Watching these heroes pirouette amidst the violence is surprisingly entertaining, and while Seven Sorrows doesn’t deliver fully on the promise and longevity of its progenitor, it does provide a fleeting good time.

And the second is at GotNext with an overall score of 2/5:

While I have been readily admitting the game kept my interest the whole way through, it also has absolutely zero effect luring me back to it to play higher difficulty levels. The experience points system is supposed to give the characters a backbone, but that’s betrayed by the sheer lack of customization and low character cap: you’ll get enough moves to flesh out your character’s move list a few levels into the game, making him nearly invincible and boring from that point on. Everything you’ll want to ever witness in this game can be seen in your first playthrough, and all the unique thrills and emotions you’ll get from Seven Sorrows you’ll get in the first twenty minutes. Everything afterwards is rinse and repeat.
