Fable: The Lost Chapters Reviews

The weekend brings us a trio of new online reviews for Lionhead Studios’ Fable: The Lost Chapters. The first is at Gamecell with an overall score of 9/10:

However, those niggles aside it’s difficult to find fault with the game. Even those who have played the Xbox version could enjoy the game a second time now it looks better than ever. Let’s just hope by the time a sequel comes out they have allowed for the game to be even more freeform.

The second is at Kikizo Games with an overall score of 8.0/10:

Whilst not completely reaching the finish line Lionhead has certainly scratched the surface of features we aspect to be expanded and become more common in next-gen titles. Those of you who have already enjoyed the Xbox version of Fable will also surely understand the attraction of jumping into the PC version and taking a new path with your character, whilst also sampling The Lost Chapters’ wealth of new content.

The third is at GameShark with an overall score of “B+”:

Lack of difficulty, aside, Fable: The Lost Chapters just plain works; it isn’t the deepest RPG around, and if you play it straight through it isn’t the longest, either, but it has more charm and more “smile” moments than any other role-playing game this year.
