Fable: The Lost Chapters Reviews

Yet another handful of reviews for Lionhead’s Fable: The Lost Chapters surfaced on the web over the past couple of days. The first is at FiringSquad with an overall score of 79%:

Fable: The Lost Chapters is worth picking up but it is not the second coming. A solid action-RPG with very good character development and a world that reacts to the player a bit like GTA: Vice City, it offers hours of solid entertainment. Most impressive is its mastery of combat, keeping it simple but engaging.

The second is at PC Gameworld with an overall score of 70%:

Overall, this game feels more like an expansion than anything else. It does not warrant the full price tag on the PC unless you have not played Fable before. It should be marketed under the $19.99 price tag that will accompany the X-box release of The Lost Chapters. They have added a decent amount, but it does not justify rebuying the game at full price even if it is now on PC as well. If you have not played Fable before, feel free to purchase this if you do not own an X-box. Otherwise, just wait for the X-box re-release.

The third is at RPGDot with an overall score of 7/10:

It’s seems odd a game that originally set out to be revolutionary ends up a conventional action adventure with some peripheral curiosities. Still, the action works for the most part, the production values are top-notch and it has a certain charm. It’s certainly a pleasant world to spend time in but the lack of real choices and short, easy gameplay may leave seasoned players feeling unsatisfied.

And the fourth is at GamePro with an overall score of 4.5/5:

Fable may not be the paradigm-shattering game fans had hoped for, but it’s definitely a worthy addition to any fantasy junkie’s RPG collection.
