A Look Back at the Xbox

The Philadelphia Inquirer has published a short article that provides a retrospective look at the last four years of Microsoft’s soon-to-be-retired Xbox. A snippet:

Gamers who took the Xbox plunge quickly discovered that this was a system like no other. The Xbox came equipped with a 10-gigabyte hard drive, which allowed gamers to save games, burn music from CDs, and create customized sound tracks for many of their favorite games. Years later, the Xbox remains the only console to make good use of a mass storage device. The PS2’s hard drive, for example, is perhaps the most worthless peripheral ever created. The GameCube has no hard drive.

They’ve even provided a “top 10” list of Xbox games, with Fable, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, and Jade Empire all making the list.
